Calculators on the Australian Tax office web site can help you with your tax return
Saturday, September 12th, 2009Not everyone has access to accounting programs to help them calculate tax discounts.
The ATO website has tax calculators as well. You can use them to:
- Calculate the best claim for your car
- Calculate your home office expenses
- Work out how much tax you should be paying
- Check if you are a resident for tax purposes
- See what offsets you may be entitled to and how much
- Check your gain or loss if one of your shares has been merged (or demerged)
- Work out your medical expenses for your tax offset (to see if you are eligible for the 20% rebate)
You can even work out your HECS/HELP debt should you be so inclined.
